Filipe Gutierrez(bother to Paula and Luz) has a very sophisticated ceramic studio, located in San Juan de Oriente Nicaragua. He is the only potter in town with an electric wheel and he is able to complete large projects quickly. He and his wife Dena work as a team and together them employee many local ceramic artists. They are also very involved in community development and have been instrumental in the development of the El Alfarero school project.
